Strawberries Anyone?

OK I saw Peach's post re the chocolate covered strawberries and I got an idea.

I went to pick strawberries at a local farm and I was reminded of the fun times we had growing up picking strawberries one for the basket one for me! This is the time of the year that we lost Big Grampa, my dad. I am sad and miss him BUT have fond memories of the good man he was.

So enjoy this picture and have a great day!

I have also included a few other pics of strawberry picking past!

Happy Memorial Day!

Wierd Science

Here is a picture of David's animal cell project. We took a foam ball cut in half and covered with floam. The base is made of all playdo together. He made the different pieces and glued them in. The parts are labeled - sorry it is a bit blurred!

Nature's Mothers Day Bouquet!

These will be in full bloom for Mother's Day on Sunday - two dozen long stem pink roses!

Happy Mother's Day to all! ( there are in my front yard!)

I remember years ago before David - it was Mother's Day in church and the bishop asked all mothers to stand to receive a special gift. I was not a mother and did not stand. Someone said something to the bishop and he corrected himself and asked all women to stand to receive a special gift.

Although you may not be a mother to a child in your home at the time- you have that mother instance and have showered it with other children so - Happy Mother's Day to you all!

Can't you Just Smell These?

My gardens are complete for now in the front yard. The one side annual has Gerber daisy's and zinnias. The lambs ear is happy and comes back every year.

The lavender comes back every year and is very scentful!

The other side is perennial - thanks to Lowes in the help save me from the trashcan section! Hey the first year they went in the ground it was touch and go if they would take. They did and are very happy!

The flower bed in the front garden welcomes with some yellow straw daisys!

You cant see but I transplanted two shoot of a peony mom/nana gave me years ago from 13400.

I am tired but they do look good!

Dog Day Afternoon

Lars and Princess own the day! Oscar is glad to be inside watching over the bed to make sure the dogs don't migrate into his territory!

Yeah - I have my first client!

Well it is that time of the year when little boys grow older and dream of ways to make $$$$$$$.
David asked me to be his accountant - BUT he didnt like it when we spoke about costs! What do you mean I dont get all the $$$$$!

He already has three lawns to cut! - Close to $100 for a day's worth of lawn cutting! Of course our yard is Gratus!

Thoughts for the Lovely Day!

Today was such a lovely spring day. I sat down in the grass and enjoyed the spring goodness around me. I came in and read my email and came across this one. I've seen these pictures before but It just touched me today. The first is a soldier all geared up sitting down to give a kitty some loves! One of the other pictures is of a soldier holding a letter dear to him and kissing it before it is sent.

We must all take a minute out and remember those brave men and women who have given up many sacrifices to fight for our freedom!
This is an British soldier - looks like the Princess Diana's first born.
